The 2026 tax season is open. Both the IRS and Hacienda began accepting electronically filed returns on January 15, 2026.
What you need to get started
- Photo ID and Social Security numbers for you and your dependents.
- All W-2 and 1099 forms you received during the year.
- Receipts for deductible expenses: IRA contributions, mortgage interest, medical expenses above the threshold, donations, education expenses.
- 1098-T if you or a dependent was in college.
- A copy of your prior-year return for reference.
Dates to remember
- April 15, 2026 — federal deadline for individuals.
- April 15, 2026 — Hacienda deadline for personal returns.
- If you need an extension, we'll file it for you — just remember it extends the filing date, not the payment date.
